Check out this page on Greg Gagliano's site for the complete story (and specifications) on the Nighthawk. All I'll add to Greg's text is that we've since run across a number of Nighthawks with ash bodies (like the clear red and clear blue examples in the photos above, for example). Dale Hyatt searched the logbooks several years ago and is responsible for the 269-guitar figure; while he was at it he also compiled the following report of Nighthawk finishes which he gave to Paul Bechtoldt:
