Normally I see the S-500 and Comanche with a toggle switch as the expander (to enable 7 pickup combinations). I was browsing G&L Tribute guitars on eBay and saw an S-500 and Comanche and saw a couple that don't have a toggle switch, but instead the ads say they have a push/pull switch on the treble pot to do the expander. Is G&L doing the expander on one of the pots now instead of as a separate toggle switch?

According to the G&L website, the Tribute S-500 and Comanche have a push-pull expander switch on the treble pot.

This is correct and it's been that way since at least 2012.

For the US S-500 and Comanche models see:
Are there expander and coil splitter switch options?.
