G&L 2000 Bass

Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:04 pm

Im am looking at a pristine 1999 L2000 fretless with an ebony fretboard. It is a transparent Blue/Teal and is absolutely gorgeous. This could be my number 10 G&L but 1st Bass. My concern is the 3 bolt neck. are they stable and what is this thing worth? Thank you for your input. -Darwin

Hey Darwin, I don't know what the bass is worth, but the 3 bolt neck is plenty stable.

The G&L 3 bolts are perfectly stable.. pricewise it's a buyer's market. Check the 'bay for completed auctions for a general range. I don't do fretless, but a fretted version in that condition would get me to part with $650-$700 if the bass spoke to me.

No idea about a 1999, but there's an early '80's L2000 Fretless on Ebay Australia with a starting bid at AUS$4,500 which is probably just a shade over US$4,000.

Thanks guys, I have it on hold and am going to pick it up today. It's been a long time since I have seen a used bass of that vintage in such beautiful condition. It is near perfect and I am particular as I collect them. This will be my first G&L bass. I have an American Deluxe Fender Jazz 4 string and two Musicman Stingray 5's, one H and one HH. Thanks again.
