| Ad slick for the '85 "Super Strats" (the Skyhawk counts as a 'SuperStrat' here since it appears with optional Kahler tremelo). These guitars are the invention of Dale Hyatt - basically a noble attempt to get a piece of the "metal craze" and hopefully attract some younger players over to G&L guitars. The hot pink (and bright yellow) finishes were also a Hyatt creation - a friend of mine once speculated that Leo was not even aware that these finishes were being used on guitars that were leaving the factory. Let me tell you, you've got to be a real man to play a hot pink Rampage. ;-) The Invader, Superhawk, and Rampage all came standard with a tone-sucking Kahler locking tremolo. |
