Jeff Sutton's 1980 L-1000

Description:

Jeff Sutton's very early L-1000. Jeff says: "Candy apple red G&L bass; it's s/n B000502, and has a body date of June 12, 1980, and a neck date of June 27, 1980. It was minty mint when I bought it at Guitar Center in Hollywood about two years ago; it even had the original hex core G&L strings and the neck wood was absolutely white. According to Paul Bechtoldt, G&L production records show the first production L-1000 was completed July 9, 1980, making this a pre-production G&L bass. G&L started bass serial numbers at B000500, so this is one of the first from Leo's last company. The maple neck is white with some minor flame, and it is in as-new condition."
