JByrd's 1989 Comanche V Signature. Jeff Byrd says, "3rd
Interceptor body, used as 1st Comanche body. As told to me by Dean Coy, this
particular instrument was used as a test guitar prototype for original John
Jorgenson model. When I received the instrument, it had a Climax neck. I
declined to take the neck and was lucky enough to find a painted sickle
headstock neck, which is what this style of Comanche rolled out of the
factory with. I bought it from a gentleman who toured the G&L factory in the
early 90's. He found the neck in a bin, asked if he cold have it and he took
it home to be used in a project someday. Lucky for me he never got around to
it. It has dual side dot markers, which is extra cool. The neck was
conditioned and refinished by factory in 2002. Thus the modern "Comanche"
logo instead of the larger version used in the late 80's, early 90's. I
haven't seen any other in this beautiful see-thru blue. "
