| Dave Perison's gorgeous pair of '81 F-100's. Dave says, "Well, these are my babies, I got Penny (on the right) about a year or so ago, traded a Fender Wayne's World Strat for it, I think I got the better end of that deal! It is a series II, s/n G004230, the neck and body are dated February 22 & 24, 1981 ( I forgot which was which). I rapidly fell in love with the F-100 and it has become my favorite guitar. Being a pawnbroker, I naturally started keeping my eye out for more G&Ls (there are still people who don't know what they have!) and the other night a buddy of mine called saying he had seen "my guitar" in a pawnshop 3 hours down the road. After I finished chewing him out for not picking up his cellular and calling me, I started planning..... got up at 4 a.m. the next morning, drove to the shop, which was in a different time zone, and was waiting there when they unlocked the doors. They had priced this baby at $249 and I managed to talk them down a little more (so as not to make them suspicious), Mindy came home with me. Mindy (on left) is a series I s/n G003935, body dated December 22, 1980, neck January 15,1981." |
