G&L had a some outdoor awnings setup outside. We were greeted by Chris & Dave, got signed in and given our "goodie" bag.
Tours of the "new" factory were given all day long. Big changes in the 15 months since I have been here. All redesigned workflow, staging, completely new layout. Looks very efficient. Some new equipment around, looked like more people working, and as friendly as you can imagine.
Nice outdoor BBQ for lunch.
Saw some VERY interesting stuff. I knew about a couple of the reissues and new models that were coming, but nothing like this! Let's just say the 6-10 months are going to be VERY interesting!!!
After 4pm or so, we all moved over the hotel, and were treated to Mexican. G&L had a band show up to be the house band. When I first saw them, and heard them, I was a little skeptical, but they turned out to be good guys, good players, encouraged our participation, and went WAAAAY out of their way to make sure WE had a good time. They did a few songs off and on, sometimes one or two G&L players joined them, and sometimes it was their drummer and ALL G&L! We had some decent players there, and couple of AMAZING players. Damn! Some of these guys are GOOD! I'm talking REAL GOOD!
I'll post a few uneditied pics, and I have already forgotten some of the names (please forgive me). I will post another report tomorrow or Monday, after I clean up the photos, and figure out who is who. But here is a taste:
