As rePat said, Willie's American Guitars on Cleveland in St. Paul is a great place. They used to specialize in vintage stuff, but they have a great variety overall. Perhaps a newer kid on the block, though, is American Guitar & Band (formerly American Guitar Boutique) out in Maple Grove. It's about a 20-minute drive from downtown MPLS, and they have lots of G&Ls as well as lots of boutique amps, including Two-Rock, Fuchs, and many others. They don't mind if you come in and just play away, either. Neither compares with Elderly's, but both are worth the visit.
