The series 1 (12' fretboard radius) are a little more rare, than the series 2 guitars. There is a market for them...but I wouldn't describe most of them as gems.
I have a few and I agree, they tend to be on on the heavier side. If your going to sell it I would put the original pickups back on, making sure to do it well with shiny solder joints...and keep the SD's or sell them separately.
The original case is a plus...and you can inform the buyer that replacement whammy bars are available through ESI (see link) as they are hard to find if you don't know about the ESI replacements.
