Lunch Report Thursday 7-2-09 posted by Slick on July 02, 2009 at 13:58:59:

: I am just starting to play around with it, and I'm amazed at what you can do with just a few pieces of equipment and a computer. My problem is drum tracks.. I am not a drummer and a can't seem to get a good drum track out of a drum machine. A friend of mine has Drag and Drop Drummer and he has good success with that. Any suggestions?

Most drum software is either pretty weak(sequenced w/ poor samples) or has a steep learning curve. I'd either keep it simple or have a drummer friend with v-drums or whatever tap out what you need and save it to disk.

: Lowender question: I am not a bass player by any means, but, I didn't want to go all week and not recognize any of you guys. Heres my question. It seems like most of the bass players I know are ex guitar players that switched, or play both. How many of you are strictly bass players.

I've had to play bass when the group had too many guitar players. I just wanted to be in there somewhere... As for the six string, I have an acoustic that I've tuned down to an open D and you'd be surprised how easy it is to fit right in with a rhythm section.

Regards,

Will
