: How many of you do any home recording? Anything you can post and Share?
I do, but haven't recorded anything on my own for almost 2 years now. When I record on my own I use a digital 8-track for individual tracks. I then use a mixing program on my PC to a mix. For drums I also use a software program. It is called Leafdrums and I like well enough that I have not looked into using something else. An example of recording on my own is : Sleepwalk. I am involved in a hobby band and we play just for fun, but over the last few months we occasionally record our practice to get a gauge how we sound. At our practice room we have Cubase set up with all our instruments feeding a mix into the software. Our drummer plays an electronic set so that makes it even easier to record him. This Beatles song Hey Bulldog is from our practice session. Instruments are recorded to individual tracks and then we do a mix using our software on the PC.
: Lowender question: I am not a bass player by any means, but, I didn't want to go all week and not recognize any of you guys. Heres my question. It seems like most of the bass players I know are ex guitar players that switched, or play both. How many of you are strictly bass players.
I a guitar player who also tries to play bass. I started doing it as I wanted to add bass to my recording when I record on my own. I'm not even mediocre on bass, I just do enough to record a bass line when I needed to. I do enjoy it just as much as playing guitar though. Kit
