Pots should not cause buzzing on their own...

...even dirty, scratchy pots. The SB-2, at its worst, should be no noisier than a single coil guitar.

Things to look at:

1. Turn both pots down to about 60%. If you're running with them dimed, the bass will get a little noisy.

2. Try a different cable.

3. Try a different amp - even a guitar amp if it's turned WAY down. Something solid state would be preferable here if possible.

4. Look at your environment. Any new noise makers?

5. Double check the wiring of your bass against the diagram above. They should match.
