Abortion alert.
"Hmmm..." and "Well...."
Where to start??No bullet truss rod nut.
No series 1 or 2 designation.
Not a pre BBE headstock.
Not the reissue headstock.
Not an original F100 control circuit.
Big fat neck is not Leo era.
Headstock looks like a fairly recent ASAT shape.
The bridge looks squeaky clean and is not string through body.
Pickups look minty.
Back of the neck looks minty.
The case is minty.
It is not a Leo era axe for certain. Not a 3 bolter for certain.
Prototype? If it is no way it left the factory under legitimate circumstances.
It is not an F100 reissue. Wrong headstock, right decal.
I also doubt that BBE would let an employee fabricate something like this from parts that are clearly intended for a limited run reissue. Something like this mucking up the reissue game is not a positive for G&L.
It is possible that this is some sort of hardtail Legacy abortion but I highly doubt that.
My guess is that it is an employee built guitar made from "borrowed" parts and is very recent.
The California auction location doubles my suspicions.
Just my .02!!
Andy
