with audiophiles it's been this way for years...
and of course it led to super duper cables for guitar and bass as well. there are those who are the zealots and believe in the "religion" and others who call it snake oil. i've read many shoot-outs for both audiophile, recording, and instrument cables and it usually runs along the same lines. i also have to chuckle when i recall the Monster rep - - whose cables are looked at the same way audiophiles look at Bose (or the Consumer Reports darlings) as mostly crap - - about the then new "time-aligned" cable and how it ensured that both the negative and positive charges flowed in sync with each other.i'm of the camp that says give me a good mogami or similar cable and i'll be very happy. and while i spent a bit more than i should have on the cables for my mastering rig, i certainly did not get the stuff that was going for mega bucks.
oh and oxygen free -- hmmmm, seems i remember my cheap cables from Cables and more also touted this very feature.
thanks for posting.
