Bluesboy vs. ASAT Special

I've been trying to figure out a head-to-head here.
I need something versatile, as I'm about to spend two years on a remote island (yes, I am being serious) and will only be able to bring one electric guitar. Talk to me about the tonal differences between these two. I've done some searching here, but please point me to anything you guys know of. I'll be doing a lot of recording work, so I want something that can morph well...
