I saw it at a dealer that's hooked me up a few times before.
It will be shipped tomorrow, then a cleaning and setup:

It will be interesting to find out when this one was made...
Cheers,
Will

			Hey Will congrats!

It’s hard to find lefty’s and one that looks that clean is even better. Love those 3-bolts too. Looking forward to hearing the date and tone report.

He took a couple hundred off...
I'll be getting it cleaned and fully sorted out when it arrives.

A review? You rarely get someone online whom has test driven a guitar...

Thanks! Yeah, I love the color, figure of the ash, and the old "dustiness" of it.

Now, due to the weather, I'll have to wait until end-of-day tomorrow for the FedEx.

			Here are the first pics:
This guitar is FILTHY!!! So, made in 1994?
Love the color; never seen this blue.... ever! The pics change the color a bit. Actually very slightly teal-ish.
Now, look at those cuts/cracks in the neck. Never seen ones like that ever. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Will

			Hey Will,

I was looking for the engraved "ASAT Classic" between the 2 height screws to the rear of the bridge pickup seen on every AC in my collection. But then I finally realized I was looking at a lefty. Doh!! So apparently the left handed versions of the bridge base plate do not have that distinction.

I have the "G039xxx" numbers somewhere between mid-1993 to mid-1994. You know the drill: parts bin, random draw, etc. Pulling off the neck would tell you more.

I have seen mineral stains, aged nitro, file marks and what not on necks. But never such a "perfectly" perpendicular dark cut. No clue what that may be. The straightness seems to indicate it is an artifact. Some knife running rampant? Dunno.

But have fun playing her.

Yes, we lefty's get a few in there... It's in my tech's hands now. He doesn't think the scratch is anything more, but will do a deep clean and look closer. The pots are scratchy a bit so hopefully a clean will quiet them down. The middle position on the selector seems to make an out-of-phase sound, so that will be investigated too.

Maybe. we'll see...

Will, nice pics. And I agree...it is a mighty dirty guitar. I think that may have been the only reason I shyed away from it. I guess Jimmy & the gang didn't feel like cleaning it up. Odd for them.

In any event, I'm certain that's a clear blue finish on it. I don't recall seeing the teal as you mentioned, but again it's been quite a while since I've seen it last.

Once your tech is done with it, I'm sure it's gonna look & play just like new. HNGD again!

Yeah, it's not teal, but has a slight something. Maybe it's due to the wood maturing or it was in the sun, I don't know.

I most likely won't see it for a week. It also came with a poor quality F case. I ended up getting a tele road case for it...

You don't have a guitarsbyleo.com (GbL) User Profile, see:

Hope this helps.

That is not listed in our GbL User Profile database. If you can remember which email address you used to register on the GbL, let me know
what it was via EMAIL or PM and I can change it to your current one.

			Got it back today!
This was one of Jimmy's personal guitars and played it was...
However, his wiring skills could use some work. He did a backwards switcheroo.
It has now been corrected and back to G&L spec. So nice!
IWILL be gigging with this one in 2019...

Cheers,
Will
