I just wanted to know how many others have found #3 necks? They are the best in the business. I gotta believe, after playing many a Legacy before mine, the #3 neck is the key reason why I have actually held on to a guitar for more than a couple of months! The thing sustains like no other s-style I have ever had and mine is just straight up maple so it just feels so clean... man... loving this thing!

I have a Legacy also with a #3 neck and It is is very cool. The string spacing is what took me by surprise but after playing it a while, it is very easy on the hands. I have small hands so it really opened things up. Great neck and I would do it again on another custom order and am always looking for pre-bbe G&L's with #3 and #4 necks.

Is a #3 neck like something you would find on a Les Paul Traditional? Like a 50's neck?

I'd imagine it would be very similar in shape. Scale length is different, so it will feel and play different to a Les PaulLifesonfan2112 wrote:Is a #3 neck like something you would find on a Les Paul Traditional? Like a 50's neck?

A nice round C, fairly 'beefy' compared to modern necks like Carvin. It is both thicker and rounder than the carvin necks I have played, but is exceptionally comfortably.
I really like my #3 neck, I got it primarily as the nut width matches what I am used to. I like 1" 11/16 much better htan 1" 5/8 as the string spacing is more open, I like the feeling of a wide spacious fretboard.

Yea, I don't know if I would compare it to a Gibson neck... It is nice and full feeling and like others have said, the string spacing is perfect. I have fairly big hands and I just like the way it fills up my palm. This is the least fatiguing neck I have ever played and I never really believed in that until I had this neck.
