The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is this weekend in Chicago. This one-off custom "Hemi-500" will be there, painted in Mopar Go Mango (aka Vitamin C) with black painted graphics, black faux binding and more. This guitar is for Patrick Krook, owner of Show Your Auto LLC. Patrick is a G&L fan, friend of the company, and personal friend of Dave McLaren. All of us at G&L thank Patrick for arranging for many G&L Detroit Muscle Series instruments to be on display at the MCACN show.
Earlier this year we released the Detroit Muscle Series: SS Collection in GM colors. Go Mango as shown on Patrick's custom "Hemi-500" will be in the upcoming R/T Collection.
For those who don't know: Patrick Krook is "JagInTheBag" here on the GbL.

Pretty spiffy! The binding is a nice touch!
So are these colors going to be available to the masses?

Sweet!
Jag is that a S-500 Deluxe R/T hardtail they're making for you? Bet it will be stunning when finished. So on the subject of cars, do you show at Park on Park? I figured that you may since I you are in Grayslake. I'm in Mundelein btw. Nice having two local shops carrying G&L. Of the two, Music Source is my preferred shop.

Love the colors.
The graphics are so-so, but I hate the faux binding. But I don't like binding on any s-style guitars.

but those graphics were cutting edge technology in 1969 and 1970 ....
.....
I'm having my SS Hugger Orange Fallout pin striped , those graphics definetly look like the cars they represent

Well I get why they look the way they do, I just think it's too much - a bit oversized, I guess.
I think the "R/T" should have been a "G&L" or how about S-500 (aka GT-500). But overall just a bit smaller for both - let those colors really show. Maybe just some traditional racing strips or similar..
to each their own

Fumble, where / how do you get your guitar pinstriped?
I have a guitar I'm interested in doing that to.

Park on Park is a great show! Good friend of mine, Brent Jarvis of Performance Restorations used to sponsor that show every year. I'd like to get to the point where we are doing the same.
The "Hemi-500" is mine, inspired by the 2014-2015 Scat Pack Shaker Challenger. The Citron Yella guitar is going to be displayed next to 1971 Charger R/T in the same color. I had my guy design the graphics masking kits for each guitar. The Color My World display will be 50 cars and 24 guitars in all. Music Source will be on hand to sell any of the guitars this weekend at Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. 270 feet of Guitar and Car!
To answer the question, are these colors going to be available: This will be the debut of the R/T (Mopar) and GT (Ford) Collection Detroit Muscle Series colors. My guitar is Vitamin-C and will be in the R/T lineup.
Local bluesman, Big Dog Mercer will be doing a show at 2pm Sunday. We will be presenting him with a clear orange ASAT Special Semi-hollow, pick guard delete.
This is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off or getting arrested!

I will just take my guitar to our Towns Mayor , he is a great Pin Striper ... the hard part is deciding what to have him do to it .... any good pin striper should be able to stripe it .... I might have some Von Dutch style striping done , he also does a cool Pink Panther in pin stripe that's a possibility

The colors from the 60's and 70's were cool. Leo used a lot of them. Good to see some of them back! Where's the Desoto Shell Pink?????d-- Darwin

Hey Jag, post some follow up pics of the guitars with the cars. That would be fun to see for those of us that can't make it.

Wow! At first I wasn't crazy about the paint scheme on the guitars. But seeing them along side the matching muscle cars is schweet!

Jos - I'm thinking that is a one-off Legacy HB Special. Very collectable.
Cool stuff.

A couple of the Panther Pink guitars intended for the show didn't make it. We had to do some last minute rearranging after the signage was produced...

I really like the R/T colors, especially the green. But then I prefer the old Mopars! SS are sharp too. The GTs just didn't do anything for me. I wish they would have an R/T, SS, or GT logo prominent on the headstock.
