I purchased G&L Legacy mid/late 90’s. It has three single coil Pickups, all look the same with black/white wires. All three have G&L logo. I measured DC Resistance and they all have around 7.1K Ohm. The middle pickup has reversed Magnetic pole, but the coil is wound in the sam direction as the other two.
Is this the original wiring or it was changed ?
Thanks

Does it still hum cancel in the "notch" positions? I'm not sure anyone would bother to re-wind a G&L pickup when they could just get a new one.

Yes, the positions 2 and 4 sound as Hum canceling and as standard single coil pickups. I also own ASAT Special with MFD pickups

Yes, all G&L pickups were wax potted.
Also, check this post in our G&L Knowledgebase:
List of pickups used in G&L guitars.
Hope this helps.

As I can understand the pickup list, my Legacy has G&L Vintage Style Alnico V.
I'm steel confused why is Middle Pickup Magnetic Reversed and the coil is wound as the other two

I believe if it were reverse wound you would get a sound cancellation in the 2, 4 positions. This is what Peter Welch did to get the sound with his Les Paul in the 60's, however those guitars have separate volume controls so you can control the level of cancellation. With only a single volume control, you get what you get which would likely be no output.
