Looking for info on my guitars

I have 2 G&L Guitars . One is a 1988 S-500 and the other is a 2000 Bluesboy.
Both guitars I bought used.On each guitar headstock it just has a G&L logo
and nothing else.The body dates match each headstock date.Both have
correct serial # matching the year.Were these employee's made guitars or
something to that nature.
