Did G&L ever use Brazillian rosewood for fingerboards? I've got a bunch of guitars, incl. a bunch of G&L's, with rosewood necks, but one in particular (1999 ADSH NAMM guitar) is more highly figured than any other fingerboard I've ever had, including a high-end PRS w/ a "Brazillian", though mediocre, fingerboard.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Brazillian Rosewood?
Hi Rob,
Although I cannot speak for G&L ever having used BRW fingerboards, and it is certainly within the realm of possibilities, I would like to give you a heads up that you might not be looking at rosewood at all but rather ebony. See the pics at the bottom of my web page on a ASAT Jr. in my possession of which I was thinking it had a BRW fingerboard due to the figure. But apparently (unstained) ebony can come that way too.
Hope this helps,
- Jos

Re: Brazillian Rosewood?
Thanks, Jos. That figure on your Jr. at the 3rd-4th fret is veeerrry nice! The figure on my AD I don't believe is dense enough to be ebony. The color is almost like walnut. It's probably Indian for that reason alone.
Thanks for your help.
