Anonymous 1982 S-500

Here's an S-500 formerly owned by Greg Gagliano. The guitar is dated March 1982 (very early as this was the first month of production for this model). Greg had the following to say about it when he submitted this image to the Gallery: "It has the transitional flat black lacquered hardware, white (faded to cream) finish over a 3-piece mahogany body, and ebony board on a skunk stripe neck. I like the slightly sweeter tone that the mahogany body imparts to the sound of this guitar compared to ash body S-500s. The difference is subtle, but noticeable. The amp behind the S-500 is a Fender 'Vibroclone' which is described in my article." (Greg is referring to an article he wrote for Twentieth Century Guitar Magazine - refer to Greg's web site (listed in the Links section) to view this article.
