I have been an 8th grade science teacher in South Central Los Angeles for the past five years after having graduated with my Masters in Education at UCLA. I grew up in rural NorCal, and now find myself in the biggest city on the West Coast. It has been a long journey, but I am pretty happy with what I am doing right now and hope that I can be a positive influence in these kids' lives.

I have been teaching myself guitar since about '99 and have been on this site just about as as long. Despite that time, I am still a bonafide hack. Playing is one of my definite stress relievers and great for procrastination. It has been slow going, but when I play with people they say they notice improvement. Hopefully some time I will have enough time and money for real lessons so that I can get to know some more basic theory. Over time I seem to have grown a certain affinity for first body style SC's. They make up the majority of my G&Ls, but I still like just about anything that comes out of the Fullerton factory.
