I've been playing guitar since I was fifteen years old (1983). My first guitar was a candy apple red Cort Strat copy. It was really cheap but did the job. Not born into a family of money, I sold the Cort in order to help pay for my then girlfriend's prom dress. Needless to say I no longer had a guitar and quit playing till 1995.

By then I had a good steady job and bought several cheap guitars. I realized that I deserved better and purchased my first quality guitar, a blonde G&L Leagacy with a maple board. I traded it a few years later and have been searching for it ever since (you really do miss the good ones). I'm not the best player out there but I have a ball when I play and now my three year old boy is very interested in daddy's guitars and I sure do encourage him. My wife thinks I'm crazy to want to get him a kid/travel guitar but I think it would be worth it.

I found this site when I got my first Legacy. I don't post much but till this day I read every post everyday and sometimes I'll chime in when I can be of help to someone. This is one of the more civilized boards.
