A couple of weeks ago I posted a G•200 style body. You probably didn’t notice the treble-side cutaway is deeper than the G•200 was. This shape is based on a drawing and template made by George Fullerton in November 1981 but never used.
We looked at the shape and thought it looks really good, better than the production G•200 did. Here’s an example of what could be done with it, rearranging everything on top and sculpting the back side, but the perimeter shape is directly from George’s work in 1981.

The G-200 style body with deeper treble-side cutaway has been built. I love taking old design concepts unseen to the public and developing them. As I mentioned before, George Fullerton drew this exact shape in November of 1981.
A rough cut neck with ASAT headstock was already in R&D land, but an asymmetrical back shape was sanded in.

Aside from that purple quilted machine, here’s that other mahogany body example I posted on April 7th starting to look more like a proper G-200 but with that deeper cutaway.
