HELP? What is this

OK folks, first let me say that I'm not even 100% sure that this came from a guitar. I found it on the rug beside where I play though and it's driving me crazy wondering if it came fell off one of my guitars. This little metal ferrule looking thing is maybe a little less than 1/4' long. Do any of you know what it is?

No strap locks on this one and I think this would be too small anyway. It's probably about a 1/4" long and only about 1/8" or less in diameter.

OK folks...never mind. Mystery solved. It was NOT from my guitar and my wife needs to stay away from my guitar playing area....or if she can't stay away...she needs to keep up with the backs off her earrings.
