Funny how the Rampage & the SC-1 have had the most 'notoriety' of all the G&L models. Perhaps because they both excel in their simplicity. One would think the ASAT would have garnered the same treatment seeing how its so darn versatile but other than 2/3 of Hellecasters, no major artist(s) have made it their 'signature' axe. Mr. Carl Perkins & his Broadcaster is the only other one that comes to mind but as far I'm aware he didn't play it exclusively and if so only during the last part of his career.
It would be cool to hear how Mr. Ray came about choosing the ASAT as his G&L of choice on the original Hellecaster's recordings.
Congratulations! It's always nice to know that one of these makes its way into good hands. With 250 made and quite a few of those modded beyond recognition, they are an endangered species.
